Institute of Transportation Engineers Section Membership Versus Section Affiliate Privileges

Regular Institute members enjoy all of the benefits of Western District membership, such as receiving the Western District newsletter, Westernite. They also receive all of the benefits of International membership, such as receiving the ITE Journal and Special Member Discounts on ITE Products and Member Benefit Programs, including car rental discounts, auto, home and professional insurance and delivery service discounts. Regular Institute members who are members of the New Mexico Section shall be entitled to all the privileges of the Section, except that Student Members may not vote or hold elective office in the Section.

New Mexico Section Affiliates shall be entitled to all the privileges of the New Mexico Section except that they may not vote or hold elective office in the New Mexico Section.

If you are interested only in becoming a New Mexico Section Affiliate, please see the link below and download the Institute of Transportation Engineers, New Mexico Section - Section Affiliate Membership Application. Complete the form and mail it to the address indicated with an enclosed check for payment of New Mexico Section dues. In accordance with the By-laws of the New Mexico Section, which can be found by downloading the NM Section Membership Directory, Section Affiliate membership may be extended to persons upon payment of the Section dues and who meet one or more of the following criteria in addition to the provisions of the Charter.

  1. Those persons who are not eligible to be members of the Institute but who are accumulating experience toward Institute membership.
  2. Technicians and others who are professionally engaged in transportation, traffic engineering, or in related fields.
  3. Students in an accredited engineering school or engineering related department engaged in a transportation related curriculum or program. Section dues are waived.
  4. Those persons who are in a position to work with and assist transportation and/or traffic engineers by virtue of official positions or commercial employment.
